I don't wear much make up. But what I do love to do is invest in great products for my skin. The trend these days seem to be moving more and more into natural skin care. After all what you put on your skin is as import as what you put in your tummy!
Last month La Prarie discontinued my Marine Biology face cream. That collection is supposed to be for younger skin. I tried their Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Emulsion which turned out to be too thick and caused a breakout. Since then I've tried multiple creams by La Prarie themselves and Sisley. Unfortunately it just did not seem to suit my skin. I was at the Grove yesterday and decided to give Honest by Jessica Alba a try. Her products are suppose to be made without: parabens, paraffins, formaldehyde carriers, PEGs, steareth-n, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, petrolatum, mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, or dyes.
I started by dabbling with the Magic Balm which can literally be put anywhere! From your lips to using it as a primer before putting your concealer. It is made with organic fruit and botanical oils. I loved their Oil Free Moisturizers. Disclaimer it doesn't smell the best since there is no fragrance added to it. The cream feels amazing on, it is so light and hydrating at the same time.
I felt like I had finally found my La Prarie Marine Biology replacement! I added the Honest face cream to my skin care line up. I use Cle de Peau Gentle Cleansing Foam in the shower. Instead of using a towel on my face in invest in Kleenex Hand Towels box just to ensure what is put on my face is squeaky clean, free of detergent. I then use the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence by pressing it into my skin. I now have my Honest Oil Free Moisturizer to use as face cream. I finish it all off wth my favorite sunblock by Chantacaille Ultra Sun Protection Sunscreen. I love how it feels on my skin it goes on clear with no white streaks and it practically serves as a light primer if I decide to put make up!
